The hot season does not come alone, and anyone’s mouth waters when they see an ice cream in 40 degrees in the shade.
There are many ways to cool off in a healthy way, and today we’re going to tell you about one that will win over even the youngest members of the family: watermelon ice cream!
We thought there could be nothing cooler than a slice of fresh watermelon, but we have found its full potential. With fresh fruit you can make any kind of ice cream, and the best thing is that with the sweet taste of watermelon you don’t need to add sugars.
Use a blender to make the watermelon as liquid as possible. Put it in the ice cream mould in the shape of your choice and fill it about ¾ full. We left a space to add other ingredients, but you could make it all watermelon.
Leave it in the freezer for 3 or 4 hours. Remove and add the new flavour. We like to add vegetable milk or drink, coconut milk for example gives it a very rich flavour.
Put it back in the freezer and keep it for another 3 or 4 hours. To make it look like watermelon, you can add a third greenish ingredient, such as a milkshake or some natural fruit yoghurt. Complete your ice cream and put it back in the freezer for another 3 hours. Have fun with the whole family making different fruit ice creams and mixing new flavours. You’re sure to discover the perfect summer companion.
